- Type: Fused
Description
VG040 – 10.5 mL Glass Absorption Cuvette (Fused, 30 mm Path Length, 2 Windows, With Lid)
The VG040 is a precision optical glass cuvette optimized for absorption spectroscopy in the visible and near-infrared range.
With a 30 mm optical path length, it delivers higher measurement sensitivity than standard 10 mm cuvettes, making it suitable for trace or low-concentration analysis.
The fused fabrication provides excellent dimensional stability, good chemical resistance, and long-term durability.
Key Features
- Sample volume: 10.5 mL — suitable for medium-volume analytical work.
- 30 mm optical path length: improves signal strength for weak absorbance samples.
- 2 optical windows: precision-polished to minimize scattering and maximize transmission.
- Optical glass material: transparent from 350–2000 nm, ideal for VIS/NIR applications.
- Fused fabrication: ensures mechanical strength and alignment accuracy.
- Wavelength range: VIS (350 – 2000 nm).
Typical Applications
- Trace and low-concentration measurements
- Colorimetric and chemical analysis
- Environmental and water testing (e.g., nitrates, phosphates)
- Laboratory QA/QC and R&D spectroscopy

About Long-Path Glass Cuvettes
Glass cuvettes with longer optical paths allow detection of lower analyte concentrations by increasing the optical path length:
- Excellent VIS/NIR transmission (350–2000 nm)
- Better sensitivity compared to standard 10 mm cuvettes
- Cost-effective and durable for routine use
- Not suitable for UV applications below 350 nm
Usage Notes
- Best suited for colorimetric assays and trace concentration measurements.
- Compatible with spectrophotometers supporting 30 mm cuvette holders.
- Not recommended for use with aggressive chemical solvents.
Note: For UV applications or exposure to harsh chemicals, quartz cuvettes are recommended. Glass cuvettes provide excellent VIS/NIR performance at a more economical cost.
