Description
VASF1 – 3.5 mL Standard Absorption Cuvette with Inner Screw Cap (Fused, 10 mm Lightpath, 2 Windows)
The VASF1 is a fused quartz absorption cuvette with a 10 mm optical path length and a 3.5 mL sample volume. It features an inner screw cap design that provides improved sealing compared to standard PTFE lids, making it suitable for anaerobic and oxygen-sensitive experiments. With two polished optical windows and excellent chemical resistance, it is ideal for UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy applications.
Key Features
- 10 mm optical path length: standard for most UV/VIS spectrophotometers.
- 2 clear optical windows: optimized for high signal transmission and accurate absorbance measurements.
- Inner screw cap: provides better sealing than regular PTFE lids, reducing evaporation and oxygen ingress.
- Fused fabrication: reliable quality with good thermal and chemical resistance.
- Wavelength range: 190–2500 nm (UV/VIS).
- Thermal resistance: up to 600 °C (1112 °F).
- Chemical compatibility: resistant to most acids, bases, and organic solvents; not suitable for HF, toluene, acetone, or other aggressive organics.
- Packaging: foam and bubble wrap; drop-tested from 1 meter before shipment.
Typical Applications
- UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy
- Anaerobic and oxygen-sensitive experiments
- Routine laboratory absorbance measurements
- Environmental and chemical analysis

About Fused Fabrication
- Fused quartz cells are heat-resistant up to 600 °C (1112 °F).
- Provide good optical quality and broad chemical resistance.
- Not compatible with HF, toluene, acetone, or strong organic solvents.
- Powder-fused seams may stain; not recommended for long-term sample storage.
- Pathlength tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm.
Note: VASF1 is designed for reliable absorption measurements with improved sealing for anaerobic and oxygen-sensitive applications. While offering good thermal and chemical resistance, it is not intended for long-term storage of aggressive solvents.
