Description
VAOB50B Sub Micro Absorption Cuvette
The VAOB50B is a bottom-black bonded quartz cuvette designed for high-sensitivity UV/VIS absorption measurements using very small sample volumes (50 µL). Its 10 mm optical pathlength matches standard spectrophotometer holders, while the bottom-black design minimizes stray light and improves baseline stability — ideal for low-volume, low-signal absorbance assays.
Key Features
- 50 µL working volume — optimized for sub-micro assays and valuable samples.
- 10 mm optical path — compatible with standard UV/VIS instruments.
- Bottom-black wall — reduces background interference and enhances signal-to-noise ratio.
- 2 optical windows — optimized for straight-path absorption measurements.
- Bonded fabrication — ideal for aqueous or mild-buffer solutions, enabling low cost and fast customization.
Typical Applications
- UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy with limited sample volume
- Protein, nucleic acid, and dye concentration measurements
- Enzyme kinetics and other biochemical assays
- Trace-level absorbance experiments requiring reduced background noise
Bonded Fabrication Notes
- Recommended for aqueous and mild buffer samples only.
- Not suitable for HF, strong organic solvents, strong acids/bases, or high-temperature soaking.
- Advantages: fast delivery time, customizable geometry, and lower cost.
- Typical optical path tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm.
- Bonded seams may discolor with strongly staining samples; not intended for pressure sealing.
For higher chemical resistance and durability, consider fused or molded types.
