Description
VG043 – 7 mL Glass Absorption Cuvette (Fused, 20 mm Path Length, 2 Windows, With Lid)
The VG043 is a high-quality optical glass cuvette designed for absorption spectroscopy in the visible and near-infrared range. With a 20 mm optical path length, it offers higher measurement sensitivity than standard 10 mm cuvettes, making it an excellent choice for low-concentration analysis and colorimetric testing. The fused glass fabrication ensures precision, durability, and resistance to chemical degradation.
Key Features
- Sample volume: 7 mL — suitable for small to medium-volume measurements.
- 20 mm optical path length: doubles the sensitivity compared to 10 mm cuvettes, ideal for weak absorbance signals.
- 2 optical windows: high-quality polish ensures excellent light transmission and low stray light.
- Optical glass material: transparent from 350–2000 nm for VIS/NIR spectroscopy.
- Fused fabrication: provides dimensional accuracy and long-lasting durability.
- Wavelength range: VIS (350 – 2000 nm).
Typical Applications
- Trace and low-concentration chemical analysis
- Colorimetric assays and environmental testing
- Water and solution quality monitoring
- Routine laboratory and research use

About Long-Path Glass Cuvettes
Long-path glass cuvettes improve the detection of low-concentration analytes by increasing the optical path:
- Excellent VIS/NIR transmission (350–2000 nm)
- Enhanced sensitivity vs. 10 mm cuvettes
- Cost-effective and durable for daily use
- Not recommended for UV measurements below 350 nm
Usage Notes
- Ideal for colorimetric assays and environmental analysis.
- Compatible with spectrophotometers designed for 20 mm path length.
- Not suitable for aggressive chemical solvents.
Note: For UV applications or harsh chemical environments, quartz cuvettes are recommended. Glass cuvettes provide excellent VIS/NIR performance at lower cost.
