Description
VFSF2 – 3.5 mL Standard Fluorescence Cuvette with Screw Cap (Fused, 10 mm Lightpath, 4 Windows)
The VFSF2 is a fused quartz fluorescence cuvette with a 10 mm optical path length and 3.5 mL sample volume. It features a screw cap and septa, offering basic sealing capability for routine fluorescence and absorption experiments, including anaerobic and oxygen-sensitive measurements under moderate conditions.
Fused fabrication offers good chemical resistance and temperature stability, making it suitable for most acidic, basic, and many organic chemical environments. However, for strong organic solvents and aggressive chemical conditions, molded fabrication provides a longer service life.
Key Features
- 10 mm optical path length: standard size, compatible with most fluorescence and UV/VIS spectrophotometers.
- 4 optical windows: enables 90° fluorescence detection with high transmission in the UV/VIS range.
- Screw cap with septa: helps reduce evaporation and contamination for sensitive samples.
- Fused fabrication: good temperature resistance (up to 600 °C / 1112 °F), lightpath tolerance ±0.06–0.08 mm.
- Wavelength range: 190–2500 nm (UV/VIS).
- Chemical compatibility: resistant to most acids, bases, and many organic solvents. For strong organics (e.g., toluene, acetone, chloroform), short-term use is possible but may shorten cuvette lifespan.
- Packaging: packed with foam and bubble wrap; 1-meter drop test passed before shipment.
Typical Applications
- Fluorescence spectroscopy
- Routine lab analysis
- Anaerobic and oxygen-sensitive measurements
- Water, buffer, acid/base, and moderate solvent systems

About Fused Fabrication
- Fused fabrication cuvettes provide excellent UV transparency and good chemical resistance.
- Compatible with most corrosive acids, bases, and many organic solvents.
- Short-term use with strong organic solvents (e.g., toluene, acetone, chloroform, dichloromethane) is possible, but repeated exposure may lead to discoloration, seal aging, or leakage.
- Hydrofluoric acid (HF) must not be used — it will etch and damage quartz.
- For long-term aggressive solvent exposure, molded fabrication cuvettes are recommended.
Note: VFSF2 is designed for standard fluorescence measurements with aqueous, acidic/basic, or moderately organic systems. If your experiment involves long-term or repeated exposure to strong solvents, molded fabrication is a more durable option.
