Description
VAOFS2 – 0.7 mL Semi-Micro Quartz Cuvette (Fused, 2 mm Width, 2 Windows, PTFE Lid)
The VAOFS2 is a precision fused quartz cuvette designed for UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy. With a 2 mm internal width and a 10 mm optical path length, it balances low sample usage with high measurement sensitivity.
Its fused fabrication offers outstanding thermal and chemical stability for reliable results in demanding analytical environments.
Key Features
- Sample volume: 0.70 mL (700 µL) — ideal for semi-micro analysis.
- 2 mm internal width: excellent for higher-concentration samples while reducing sample consumption.
- 10 mm optical path length: standard geometry compatible with most spectrophotometers.
- 2 optical windows: optimized for precise absorption measurements.
- Fused fabrication: resistant to high temperatures (up to 600 °C) and most chemicals (except HF and strong organic solvents such as toluene or acetone).
- Path length tolerance: ±0.06–0.08 mm.
- Wavelength range: UV/VIS (190–2500 nm).
Typical Applications
- UV/VIS absorption measurements
- Protein and nucleic acid quantification
- High-concentration sample analysis
- Biological and pharmaceutical research

About Fused Fabrication
Fused quartz cuvettes are manufactured by high-temperature sintering of quartz powder, providing:
- Exceptional heat resistance — up to 600 °C.
- Excellent optical clarity and stability for precise measurements.
- Resistance to most acids and bases (except HF) and limited compatibility with strong organic solvents (e.g., toluene, acetone).
- Typical path length tolerance of ±0.06–0.08 mm.
Usage Notes
- Ideal for high-precision absorption experiments.
- Best used with aqueous solutions or moderate solvents; avoid long-term storage of aggressive organic solvents.
Note: Compared with bonded types, fused quartz offers superior thermal and chemical durability, making it a strong choice for high-precision analytical work.
