Description
VAOF200 Fused Quartz Dual Lightpath Fluorescence Cuvette is a 4-window cuvette with a 20 mm and 50 mm dual optical path length and a 20 ml volume. This cuvette is designed for high-sensitivity fluorescence and absorbance measurements, especially when working with low-concentration or trace samples. The long path length configuration provides enhanced signal strength and extended detection capability, while the fused quartz construction ensures excellent thermal and chemical resistance.
Why Long Path Length Matters
Long path cuvettes extend the optical distance, directly amplifying weak absorbance or fluorescence signals based on the Beer–Lambert Law.
This significantly improves detection sensitivity, especially in trace-level analysis, by increasing signal-to-noise ratio and extending the measurable range.
It’s particularly advantageous for fluorescence detection, where low analyte concentrations often produce weak emission signals.
This design is ideal for:
- Trace-level detection in fluorescence and UV/VIS spectroscopy.
- Low-concentration biological or chemical assays.
- Signal amplification for weak fluorophores or low-emission samples.
- Environmental analysis and advanced R&D applications.
Key Features
- Dual optical path (20 mm / 50 mm) — provides measurement flexibility for different sensitivity needs.
- 4-window design — optimized for side detection in fluorescence experiments.
- Fused fabrication — offers excellent resistance to high temperature (up to 600 °C) and strong chemical durability.
- Long-path configuration — ideal for trace detection, enhancing signal strength and extending the linear range of measurement.
- Broad wavelength range — 190 – 2500 nm, suitable for UV/VIS and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Typical Applications
- Fluorescence spectroscopy with side excitation and emission detection.
- UV/VIS absorbance and transmission spectroscopy.
- Trace contaminant detection in environmental water samples.
- Pharmaceutical, biological, and material science research.
- High-sensitivity experiments requiring flexible path lengths.
Fused Fabrication Notes
- Fused fabrication ensures superior optical clarity, chemical resistance, and heat stability.
- Not suitable for hydrofluoric acid (HF) or strong organic solvents such as toluene and acetone.
- Powder seams may discolor over time but do not affect measurement performance.
- Typical path length tolerance is ±0.06 – 0.08 mm.
