Description

VAOF180 Fused Quartz Absorption Cuvette is a 2-window quartz cuvette with a 6 mm optical path length and a 18 ml volume.
It is designed for standard UV/VIS absorbance measurements, especially for large sample volumes and routine laboratory use. The short optical path makes it particularly suitable for medium to high concentration samples where signal saturation must be avoided.

Why Short Path Length Matters
Short path cuvettes help prevent over-absorption when working with concentrated samples. A shorter optical distance reduces absorbance intensity, allowing accurate measurements without the need for excessive dilution. This ensures greater flexibility and precision in both research and routine analysis.

This cuvette is ideal for:

  • Medium to high concentration absorbance measurements
  • UV/VIS transmission and optical density testing
  • Routine lab analysis in chemistry, environmental monitoring, and industrial R&D
  • Applications requiring larger sample volumes with short path lengths

Key Features

  • 6 mm optical path — reduces absorbance for concentrated samples, avoiding signal saturation.
  • Large sample capacity (18 ml) — ideal for preparative and routine assays.
  • Fused fabrication — excellent thermal resistance up to 600 °C and high chemical durability.
  • Wide wavelength range — 190–2500 nm, compatible with most UV/VIS instruments.
  • 2-window design — optimized for transmission and absorbance measurements.

Typical Applications

  • Absorbance measurements of medium/high concentration solutions
  • UV/VIS spectroscopy in environmental and chemical labs
  • Quality control and process monitoring in industry
  • Biochemical and pharmaceutical analysis

Fused Fabrication Notes

  • Fused quartz provides superior optical clarity, high heat resistance, and chemical stability.
  • Not suitable for hydrofluoric acid (HF) or strong organic solvents such as toluene and acetone.
  • Powder seams may discolor over time but do not affect measurement performance.
  • Typical path length tolerance: ±0.06–0.08 mm.

Why QVARZ Cuvettes and Cells?

QVARZ is world-renowned as the producer of premium quartz cuvettes. Over fifteen years of experience manufacturing quartz cuvettes ensures that every QVARZ cuvettes are manufactured to the most exacting standards for reproducible results.

  • Spectrophotometry cuvettes - Most spectrophotometry applications in the visible and UV ranges benefit from QVARZ spectrophotometry cuvettes. Our cuvettes made of fused quartz material deliver precise and reliable readings even at wavelengths as low as 190 nm. QVARZ cuvettes are compatible with most spectrophotometers and photometers with standard 0.2 - 100 mm path lengths.

  • Fluorometry cuvettes - QVARZ brings two decades of experience molding high-quality spectrophotometry cuvettes to new four-sided clear cuvettes for fluorometry. Available in standard quartz material with ultra-low auto-fluorescence for the highest precision measurements.

  • Protective packaging - QVARZ cuvettes are encased in dust-free, low scratching expanded polystyrene packaging. This ensures that premium cuvettes arrive in the laboratory ina the same pristine condition they were in at the factory, with optical quality windows and free of contaminants.

  • Volumes for most purposes - Our cuvettes are available in a variety of ranges from macro to macro semi-micro sizes to respond to the needs of most scientific applications. We are also able to customize sample volume to deliver consistent, accurate findings.

  • Perform consistently - QVARZ Cuvettes are constructed from high-quality fused quartz materials and are grouped by manufacturing mold cavities to ensure the lowest fluctuation in extinction coefficient.

  • Customization - Custom cuvettes and cells are encouraged and available upon request; mechanical drawings with specifications and tolerances are prerequisites. Awesome pricing and flexibility on small quantities.
