Description
VG037 – 14 mL Glass Absorption Cuvette (Fused, 40 mm Path Length, 2 Windows, With Lid)
The VG037 is a high-clarity optical glass cuvette specifically designed for absorption spectroscopy in the visible and near-infrared range.
With a 40 mm optical path length, it offers enhanced sensitivity compared to standard 10 mm cuvettes, making it suitable for low-concentration or trace analysis.
The fused glass fabrication ensures stable optical alignment, chemical resistance, and long-term durability.
Key Features
- Sample volume: 14 mL — suitable for medium-volume analytical work.
- 40 mm optical path length: ideal for improved sensitivity and better signal detection for weak absorbance.
- 2 optical windows: precision polished to reduce scattering and maximize transmission.
- Optical glass material: clear from 350–2000 nm for VIS/NIR applications.
- Fused fabrication: offers superior stability, durability, and ease of cleaning.
- Wavelength range: VIS (350 – 2000 nm).
Typical Applications
- Low-concentration and trace analysis
- Colorimetric and chemical absorbance testing
- Environmental and water quality monitoring
- Laboratory QA/QC and R&D spectroscopy

About Long-Path Glass Cuvettes
Glass cuvettes with extended path lengths are particularly advantageous for detecting low-level absorbance:
- Excellent VIS/NIR transmission (350–2000 nm)
- Enhanced sensitivity compared to standard 10 mm cuvettes
- Cost-effective and robust for routine laboratory use
- Not suitable for UV applications below 350 nm
Usage Notes
- Ideal for low-concentration samples and colorimetric assays.
- Compatible with spectrophotometers supporting 40 mm path length cells.
- Not recommended for aggressive chemical solvents.
Note: For UV spectroscopy or harsh chemical environments, quartz cuvettes are recommended. Glass cuvettes provide excellent performance for VIS/NIR measurements at a lower cost.
