Description
VG034 – 17.5 mL Glass Absorption Cuvette (Fused, 50 mm Path Length, 2 Windows, With Lid)
The VG034 is a precision optical glass cuvette designed for absorption spectroscopy in the visible and near-infrared range.
With a 50 mm optical path length, it enhances sensitivity and allows accurate measurement of low-concentration analytes.
The fused glass construction ensures superior durability, chemical resistance, and stable optical performance, making it ideal for both research and routine laboratory work.
Key Features
- Sample volume: 17.5 mL — suitable for medium-volume analytical work.
- 50 mm optical path length: improves detection sensitivity for weak absorbance signals.
- 2 optical windows: high polish for excellent light transmission and low scattering.
- Optical glass material: transparent from 350–2000 nm.
- Fused fabrication: provides dimensional stability and long service life.
- Wavelength range: VIS (350 – 2000 nm).
Typical Applications
- Trace concentration measurements
- Colorimetric analysis with increased sensitivity
- Environmental and water quality testing (e.g., nitrates, phosphates)
- Research and QA/QC laboratory spectroscopy

About Long-Path Glass Cuvettes
Glass cuvettes with extended path lengths provide improved signal strength for low-absorbance samples:
- Excellent VIS/NIR transmission (350–2000 nm)
- Ideal for trace and colorimetric analysis
- Cost-effective and robust for routine lab use
- Not suitable for UV measurements below 350 nm
Usage Notes
- Use for low-concentration samples where longer path length boosts absorbance signal.
- Compatible with spectrophotometers supporting 50 mm path length cuvettes.
- Not recommended for strong acids, alkalis, or aggressive organic solvents.
Note: For UV applications or harsher chemical environments, quartz cuvettes are recommended. Glass cuvettes offer excellent performance for VIS/NIR work at an economical cost.
