Description
VFOFC44 – 5 × 5 mm Optical Path Micro Quartz Cuvette (Fused, 4 Windows, Open Top)
The VFOFC44 is a custom fused quartz cuvette featuring a 5 × 5 mm optical path and four clear windows, designed for fluorescence and absorption measurements that require high optical quality and flexibility. Its compact internal volume of 875 μL makes it ideal for small to medium volume experiments while maintaining excellent measurement precision.
Key Features
- 5 × 5 mm optical path: provides balanced sensitivity and sample economy.
- Four clear windows: designed for fluorescence experiments with side detection.
- Fused fabrication: withstands temperatures up to 600 °C (1112 °F), ensuring excellent UV/VIS optical clarity.
- Quartz powder assembly: seams may stain with prolonged exposure; not recommended for long-term storage.
- Chemical compatibility: resistant to most acids and bases, but not compatible with HF, toluene, acetone, or other strong organic solvents which can shorten its lifespan.
- Pathlength tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm.
- Wavelength range: UV/VIS (190 – 2500 nm).
- Customizable for shorter path lengths (4×4, 3×3, 2×2 mm).
Typical Applications
- Fluorescence spectroscopy with side detection
- Small-volume biochemical and environmental measurements
- Pharmaceutical and analytical research
- Custom optical setups requiring high UV transparency

About Fused Fabrication
Fused quartz cuvettes are manufactured through high-purity quartz powder sintering, offering:
- High temperature resistance up to 600 °C (1112 °F)
- Excellent UV/VIS optical clarity
- Good chemical resistance against most acids and bases
- Not suitable for HF, toluene, acetone, and other aggressive organic solvents
- Possible seam staining if used for long-term sample storage
- Optical path tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm
Note: For experiments involving aggressive organic solvents or long-term storage, molded cuvettes may offer better durability.
