Description

VASMR5 – 1.75 mL Sealable Absorption Cuvette (Molded, 5 mm Lightpath, 2 Windows, Round Base)

The VASMR5 is a molded quartz absorption cuvette with a 5 mm optical path length and a 1.75 mL sample volume. It features 2 optical windows and a round base design, providing excellent transmission performance for absorption spectroscopy. The screw cap with septa allows basic sealing, suitable for anaerobic and oxygen-sensitive measurements in standard laboratory use.

Key Features

  • 5 mm optical path length: ideal for moderate concentration absorption measurements.
  • 2 clear windows: optimized for high-quality transmission in UV/VIS measurements.
  • Screw cap with septa: provides basic sealing to minimize evaporation and oxygen exposure.
  • Optional center-hole cap: available for sterile injections.
  • Molded fabrication: the highest dimensional and optical precision with a pathlength tolerance of ±0.01 mm.
  • Wavelength range: 190–2500 nm (UV/VIS).
  • Temperature resistance: −60 °C (−76 °F) to 1200 °C (2192 °F).
  • Chemical compatibility: resistant to most acids, bases, and strong organic solvents including toluene and acetone; not suitable for HF.
  • Secure packaging: foam and bubble wrap; drop-tested from 1 meter before shipment.

Typical Applications

  • UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy
  • Colorimetric and photometric analysis
  • Routine laboratory measurements
  • Sealed measurements requiring reduced oxygen interference

About Molded Fabrication

  • Molded fabrication represents the highest level of optical and dimensional precision for quartz cuvettes.
  • Ensures ±0.01 mm pathlength tolerance for stable and repeatable absorption measurements.
  • Excellent chemical resistance to most acids, bases, and strong organic solvents (e.g., toluene, acetone); not compatible with HF.
  • Round base design ensures smooth optical alignment and secure instrument placement.

Note: VASMR5 is a precision-molded absorption cuvette designed for 5 mm lightpath measurements. The screw cap with septa offers reliable sealing for standard and anaerobic experiments but is not intended for high-pressure or fully gas-tight applications.

Why QVARZ Cuvettes and Cells?

QVARZ is world-renowned as the producer of premium quartz cuvettes. Over fifteen years of experience manufacturing quartz cuvettes ensures that every QVARZ cuvettes are manufactured to the most exacting standards for reproducible results.

  • Spectrophotometry cuvettes - Most spectrophotometry applications in the visible and UV ranges benefit from QVARZ spectrophotometry cuvettes. Our cuvettes made of fused quartz material deliver precise and reliable readings even at wavelengths as low as 190 nm. QVARZ cuvettes are compatible with most spectrophotometers and photometers with standard 0.2 - 100 mm path lengths.

  • Fluorometry cuvettes - QVARZ brings two decades of experience molding high-quality spectrophotometry cuvettes to new four-sided clear cuvettes for fluorometry. Available in standard quartz material with ultra-low auto-fluorescence for the highest precision measurements.

  • Protective packaging - QVARZ cuvettes are encased in dust-free, low scratching expanded polystyrene packaging. This ensures that premium cuvettes arrive in the laboratory ina the same pristine condition they were in at the factory, with optical quality windows and free of contaminants.

  • Volumes for most purposes - Our cuvettes are available in a variety of ranges from macro to macro semi-micro sizes to respond to the needs of most scientific applications. We are also able to customize sample volume to deliver consistent, accurate findings.

  • Perform consistently - QVARZ Cuvettes are constructed from high-quality fused quartz materials and are grouped by manufacturing mold cavities to ensure the lowest fluctuation in extinction coefficient.

  • Customization - Custom cuvettes and cells are encouraged and available upon request; mechanical drawings with specifications and tolerances are prerequisites. Awesome pricing and flexibility on small quantities.
