Description

VP020 – 4.5 mL Disposable Standard Fluorescence Cuvette (Isobutylene, 10 mm Lightpath, 4 Windows, UV-Visible 285–750 nm)

The VP020 is a disposable fluorescence cuvette made from isobutylene-based optical plastic, offering improved UV transmission compared to standard polystyrene cuvettes. With a 10 mm optical path length and 4 optically clear windows, it provides reliable optical performance for UV-Visible fluorescence and absorbance measurements from 285 nm to 750 nm. This cuvette is ideal for routine measurements, educational use, and high-throughput applications where cleaning is not required. Its disposable nature prevents sample cross-contamination and simplifies workflow.

Key Features

  • 10 mm optical path length: compatible with most UV-Vis spectrophotometers and fluorometers.
  • 4 optical windows: suitable for standard and 90° fluorescence measurements.
  • Material: isobutylene plastic provides better UV transmission (down to 285 nm) compared to standard polystyrene.
  • Cost-effective: disposable design eliminates the need for cleaning and avoids sample carryover.
  • Sample volume: 4.5 mL total, optimized for general laboratory assays and teaching applications.
  • Packaging: supplied with lids (not all sets include packaging accessories).

Typical Applications

  • UV-Visible fluorescence and absorbance measurements
  • Biological and biochemical assays
  • High-throughput and parallel experiments
  • Teaching and training laboratories
  • Routine analytical testing

About Disposable UV-Visible Cuvettes

  • Made from UV-transmitting isobutylene plastic for enhanced optical clarity.
  • Effective in the 285–750 nm wavelength range; not suitable for deep UV applications below 280 nm.
  • Best for aqueous and mild buffer solutions; not recommended for strong acids, bases, or organic solvents.
  • Disposable use eliminates contamination and cleaning steps.

Note: VP020 offers better UV performance than standard disposable polystyrene cuvettes. For full UV and strong solvent resistance, quartz cuvettes are recommended.
