Description
VG034 – 17.5 mL Optical Glass Absorption Cuvette with PTFE Lid (50 mm Lightpath, 2 Windows, Fused Fabrication)
The VG034 is a precision 50 mm optical path length glass cuvette designed for visible and NIR absorbance measurements.
Constructed from high-quality optical glass using fused fabrication, this cuvette offers excellent optical clarity, stable performance, and reliable chemical resistance for routine laboratory work, trace analysis, and water or organic solvent measurements.
The 50 mm long path length provides enhanced sensitivity, making it ideal for low-concentration or trace-level absorbance experiments. The cuvette includes a PTFE lid to minimize sample loss through evaporation and to maintain clean measurement conditions.
Chemical Compatibility
Fused glass cuvettes are resistant to most corrosive and organic chemicals, offering greater durability than bonded types. However, some aggressive organic solvents may shorten the service life.
- ✔ Compatible: most acids and bases (except HF), aqueous solutions, alcohols, and many organic solvents.
- ⚠ Strong organic solvents such as toluene, acetone, MEK, and chloroform may cause surface staining or shorten lifespan during long exposure.
- ❌ Not compatible with hydrofluoric acid (HF).
