Description
VFOFC44 – 4 mm Optical Path Fluorescence Quartz Cuvette (Fused, 4 Windows, Open Top)
The VFOFC44 is a custom fused quartz cuvette with a 4 mm optical path length and 4 × 4 mm internal aperture, designed for fluorescence measurements that require high optical precision and four clear windows for side detection. With a small internal volume of 560 μL and an open-top design, this cuvette is ideal for experiments involving precious or limited samples.
Key Features
- 4 mm optical path: suitable for moderate-concentration fluorescence or absorption measurements.
- Four clear windows: enables side detection and flexible excitation/emission configurations.
- Fused fabrication: withstands temperatures up to 600 °C (1112 °F) and provides excellent UV/VIS optical clarity.
- Quartz powder assembly: seams may stain with long-term sample contact; not recommended for prolonged storage.
- Chemical compatibility: suitable for most acids and bases, but not compatible with HF, toluene, acetone or other strong organic solvents that can shorten cuvette life.
- Optical path tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm for stable and reproducible results.
- Low sample volume: only 560 μL required.
- Wavelength range: UV/VIS (190 – 2500 nm).
- Open-top design for easy filling and cleaning.
Typical Applications
- Fluorescence spectroscopy with side detection
- Trace-level or small-volume sample analysis
- Environmental, pharmaceutical, and chemical research
- Customized optical setups

About Fused Fabrication
Fused quartz cuvettes are manufactured through quartz powder sintering, providing:
- Temperature resistance up to 600 °C (1112 °F)
- Excellent UV/VIS optical clarity
- Resistance to most acids and bases
- Unsuitability for HF, toluene, acetone, and other strong organic solvents
- Potential seam staining if samples are stored long term
- Optical path tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm
Note: For experiments involving aggressive organic solvents or long-term storage, molded cuvettes may offer better durability.
