Description
VAOFC50 – 50 mm Long Path Semi-Micro Quartz Cuvette (Fused, 2 Windows, Open Top)
The VAOFC50 is a custom long-path fused quartz cuvette designed for high-sensitivity UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy.
With an extended 50 mm optical path and narrow 3 mm internal width, this cuvette is ideal for trace-level measurements, environmental analysis, and applications requiring enhanced signal strength.
The open-top design allows for easy sample filling, cleaning, and compatibility with flexible experimental setups.
Key Features
- 50 mm optical path: boosts absorbance signal and improves detection sensitivity for low-concentration analytes.
- Fused fabrication: heat resistant up to 600 °C (1112 °F), ideal for demanding analytical environments.
- Quartz powder assembly: seams may stain after long-term sample contact; long-term storage is not recommended.
- Chemical compatibility: resistant to most acids and bases but not suitable for HF, toluene, acetone, and strong organic solvents, which can significantly reduce the service life of the cuvette.
- Optical path tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm, ensuring stable and reliable measurements.
- UV/VIS wavelength range: 190 – 2500 nm.
- Open-top design: simple handling, suitable for manual or automated liquid loading.
Advantages of Long Pathlength Cuvettes
- Improved detection sensitivity for trace and low-concentration analytes
- Enhanced signal-to-noise ratio and extended detection limits
- Excellent for environmental monitoring, water quality testing, and chemical research
- Reduces measurement error for low absorbance samples

About Fused Fabrication
Fused quartz cuvettes are produced through quartz powder sintering, providing:
- High temperature resistance up to 600 °C (1112 °F)
- Excellent UV/VIS optical transmission
- Resistance to most acids and bases
- Unsuitability for HF, toluene, acetone, and other strong organic solvents
- Potential staining at seams if samples are stored for extended periods
- Optical path tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm
Note: For experiments involving strong organic solvents or long-term storage, bonded cuvettes may offer a more durable alternative.
