Description

VAOF190 Fused Quartz Long Path Absorption Cuvette is a 2-window quartz cuvette with a 34 mm optical path length and a 19 ml volume.
Its long-path design makes it particularly suitable for trace-level absorbance measurements, significantly improving signal sensitivity for low-concentration samples.

Why Long Path Length Matters
A longer optical path length increases the interaction distance between light and the sample, amplifying weak signals and improving the signal-to-noise ratio.
This makes it possible to detect trace analytes with higher accuracy and extend the dynamic measurement range—an essential factor in environmental monitoring, biochemical analysis, and material research.

This cuvette is ideal for:

  • Low-concentration or trace-level absorbance analysis
  • Environmental contaminant detection (e.g., nitrates, phosphates, organic pollutants)
  • Biological and chemical assays requiring enhanced sensitivity
  • Research where signal strength and reproducibility are critical

Key Features

  • 34 mm optical path — long path length increases absorbance sensitivity.
  • 2-window design — optimized for transmission and absorbance spectroscopy.
  • Fused fabrication — excellent chemical resistance and can be heated up to 600 °C.
  • Wavelength range — 190–2500 nm, suitable for UV/VIS applications.

Typical Applications

  • Environmental water analysis (e.g., nitrate, phosphate, heavy metals)
  • Biochemical assays requiring higher detection sensitivity
  • Pharmaceutical and material science research
  • Trace contaminant monitoring and extended signal measurement

Fused Fabrication Notes

  • Fused quartz ensures superior clarity, thermal stability, and chemical durability.
  • Not suitable for hydrofluoric acid (HF) or strong organic solvents such as toluene and acetone.
  • Powder seams may discolor over time but do not affect performance.
  • Typical path length tolerance: ±0.06–0.08 mm.

Why QVARZ Cuvettes and Cells?

QVARZ is world-renowned as the producer of premium quartz cuvettes. Over fifteen years of experience manufacturing quartz cuvettes ensures that every QVARZ cuvettes are manufactured to the most exacting standards for reproducible results.

  • Spectrophotometry cuvettes - Most spectrophotometry applications in the visible and UV ranges benefit from QVARZ spectrophotometry cuvettes. Our cuvettes made of fused quartz material deliver precise and reliable readings even at wavelengths as low as 190 nm. QVARZ cuvettes are compatible with most spectrophotometers and photometers with standard 0.2 - 100 mm path lengths.

  • Fluorometry cuvettes - QVARZ brings two decades of experience molding high-quality spectrophotometry cuvettes to new four-sided clear cuvettes for fluorometry. Available in standard quartz material with ultra-low auto-fluorescence for the highest precision measurements.

  • Protective packaging - QVARZ cuvettes are encased in dust-free, low scratching expanded polystyrene packaging. This ensures that premium cuvettes arrive in the laboratory ina the same pristine condition they were in at the factory, with optical quality windows and free of contaminants.

  • Volumes for most purposes - Our cuvettes are available in a variety of ranges from macro to macro semi-micro sizes to respond to the needs of most scientific applications. We are also able to customize sample volume to deliver consistent, accurate findings.

  • Perform consistently - QVARZ Cuvettes are constructed from high-quality fused quartz materials and are grouped by manufacturing mold cavities to ensure the lowest fluctuation in extinction coefficient.

  • Customization - Custom cuvettes and cells are encouraged and available upon request; mechanical drawings with specifications and tolerances are prerequisites. Awesome pricing and flexibility on small quantities.
