Description

VAOB20B Sub Micro Absorption Cuvette

The VAOB20B is a bottom-black bonded quartz cuvette designed for ultra-low-volume UV/VIS absorbance measurements. With a 10 mm optical pathlength and a 20 µL sample capacity, this cuvette is ideal for high-value or scarce samples where sensitivity and light control are critical. The black bottom wall reduces unwanted reflections and improves baseline stability for precise results.

Key Features

  • 20 µL working volume — ultra-low sample requirement for high-value or limited-volume assays.
  • 10 mm optical pathlength — compatible with standard UV/VIS spectrophotometers.
  • Bottom-black wall — suppresses stray light and enhances S/N ratio.
  • 2 optical windows — optimized for absorption detection.
  • Z-dimension 8.5 mm — suitable for short-center-height instruments and plate-read configurations.
  • Bonded fabrication — cost-effective and customizable, best for aqueous or mild buffer solutions.

Typical Applications

  • UV/VIS absorbance with trace or valuable samples
  • DNA, RNA, protein, or dye concentration analysis
  • Enzyme kinetics in micro assays
  • Low-signal measurements requiring controlled background

Bonded Fabrication Notes

  • Best suited for aqueous and mild buffer solutions.
  • Not suitable for HF, strong acids/bases, strong organic solvents, or prolonged high-temperature conditions.
  • Advantages: quick customization, low production cost, short delivery time.
  • Typical optical path tolerance: ±0.06 – 0.08 mm.
  • Bond seams may discolor with strongly staining samples. For higher solvent resistance and durability, consider fused or molded cuvettes.

Why QVARZ Cuvettes and Cells?

QVARZ is world-renowned as the producer of premium quartz cuvettes. Over fifteen years of experience manufacturing quartz cuvettes ensures that every QVARZ cuvettes are manufactured to the most exacting standards for reproducible results.

  • Spectrophotometry cuvettes - Most spectrophotometry applications in the visible and UV ranges benefit from QVARZ spectrophotometry cuvettes. Our cuvettes made of fused quartz material deliver precise and reliable readings even at wavelengths as low as 190 nm. QVARZ cuvettes are compatible with most spectrophotometers and photometers with standard 0.2 - 100 mm path lengths.

  • Fluorometry cuvettes - QVARZ brings two decades of experience molding high-quality spectrophotometry cuvettes to new four-sided clear cuvettes for fluorometry. Available in standard quartz material with ultra-low auto-fluorescence for the highest precision measurements.

  • Protective packaging - QVARZ cuvettes are encased in dust-free, low scratching expanded polystyrene packaging. This ensures that premium cuvettes arrive in the laboratory ina the same pristine condition they were in at the factory, with optical quality windows and free of contaminants.

  • Volumes for most purposes - Our cuvettes are available in a variety of ranges from macro to macro semi-micro sizes to respond to the needs of most scientific applications. We are also able to customize sample volume to deliver consistent, accurate findings.

  • Perform consistently - QVARZ Cuvettes are constructed from high-quality fused quartz materials and are grouped by manufacturing mold cavities to ensure the lowest fluctuation in extinction coefficient.

  • Customization - Custom cuvettes and cells are encouraged and available upon request; mechanical drawings with specifications and tolerances are prerequisites. Awesome pricing and flexibility on small quantities.
